Types of shower doors to pick

Today a number of shower doors are available from where you can make the best choice for your bathroom. But most importantly the size of the shower door should be measured correctly so that it does not bump into any of the other bathroom fittings. A shower door is a very important accessory of your bathroom as it separates the shower area from the rest of the bathroom, thus keeping the rest of the bathroom clean and dry. Also it restricts the steam from escaping out of the shower area.
If you don’t have a shower door in your bathroom then its time you pick one and incase you already have them then its best to get a new one to replace it and add a new look to your bathroom and the best  place to start with is from revamping your shower doors. Here are a few of the shower doors models, which you can select for your bathroom

  • Sliding shower door: This shower door comprises of 2-3 door panels over a track that slide against each other to open a door area into the shower. They work best when there is ample space for the door spacing from where you can get into the shower area and is thus best suited for bath tub enclosures.
  • Bifold Doors: These doors work on the accordion principle where one panel folds into the other when the door is pushed to one side. The steam in this shower door arrangement just cannot escape. They work best for washrooms which are narrow as they make best use in the small area available.
  • Swinging doors: They are best suited in bathrooms where there is ample amount of space available. They can be single or double panel type where the door opens up into the bathroom completely, thus there should be good amount of space available so that the doors can open fully.
After the selection of the shower model has been made, it is time to decide on the appearance of the shower doors. Effort should be on picking up a door which is the best looking. Generally doors with glass are the most preferred as they look very classy and stylish. Glass doors are available in the framed and unframed variety. But one thing to be kept in mind is that unframed glass doors can be risky as they have higher chances of breaking. But the frameless glass shower door surpasses the framed glass door in looks and also for the fact that the frameless ones are easier to clean. In the glass door you have to pay attention to the opacity of the glass door. You can even pick a transparent door, this looks very clean and chick but with the passage of time white water spots begin to appear on the door which are very difficult to remove. Thus a transparent door is very difficult to clean. On the contrary transparent doors can be made little opaque through clouding and etching procedures thus making them more user friendly and also add to the privacy of the shower area.
